Psychic Attack can be divided into two different Categories:
- By Spirit Bodies (Incarnate, Discarnate and Jinn)
- By Manipulation of Psychic Energies

1. Psychic Attack by Spirit Bodies.
People who are "dead" and people who are alive have both got Spirit-Bodies just the same! The Spirit-Body is mostly invisible, though a few psychic clairvoyant people can see Spirit-Bodies under certain conditions. Because they are around us all the time yet mostly invisible, gives those with bad intent easy opportunity to whisper harmful suggestions into our subconscious, then withdraw away to watch the evil result!
Remote Viewing and Remote Influencing is a form of psychic attack by living people (Incarnate Spirit), this form of danger is much more active now than it was in the past. Psychic spying is now used by the military intelligence agencies of several countries including Russia, USA, Britain and Israel! The Government and Establishment of these countries publicly refuse even to accept the existence of a Spirit world, let alone admit they use them for intelligence gathering.
How it works… When we are in some types of sleep or trance, our own spirit body can leave the physical body and visit places far away, then return to the physical body. Some people have the ability to remember what they have seen or even speak through their physical body while they are seeing something with their spirit body – in two different places at the same time! There is the well recorded journey our Prophet took (Mi'raj) described in Sura 17:1 of the Qur'an, however he was not the only person with this astral travel ability. The intelligence agencies in the former USSR spent a lot of money on perfecting this technique; they took their countries most psychic people and gave scientists a large secret budget to work on this technology. Electronic amplification of the psychic gifts was also researched and practiced. Hypnosis of the target person by the travelling spirit-body was also practiced, as also hypnotic alteration of a target person’s heart rate or blood pressure with the ultimate intent of causing death remotely by psychic means! By intense training, a psychic person would eventually be able make their Spirit-body travel to any destination they were told to by their Intelligence agency! If all this sounds unbelievable and utterly ridiculous; then put words like 'Remote Viewing', 'Psychotronic Weapons' or 'Military Psychic' into Google or Yahoo, and follow the links! (Note; in some of these reports, the Spirit-Body is called a Morphogenetic Field)
Next let us consider psychic attack by dead people (Discarnate Spirit), as said many times on this website, when our physical body dies, our consciousness continues to live in what we term a Spirit Body (this if further described on the page What is Spiritualism?) If a person has a bitter grudge, like for example they have been wrongfully executed, then their Spirit-body may well try to cause mischief for those still on earth who killed them, this can be even worse in a war situation with some of the former combatants continuing their earthly quarrel provoking mayhem from the spirit dimension! Situations like in Iraq and Palestine are made far worse because of these revengeful spirits. If a person was aggressive and unkind when on the earth, then immediately after their earthly body has died, they with their Spirit-body will still be of an aggressive and unkind nature, it takes time and development for such souls to rise to the finer more elevated Spirit planes. In the meantime, if they have opportunity to cause trouble for us on the earth, they probably will do so again by telepathically implanting nasty inspirational thoughts, into the sub-conscious mind of susceptible people.
Possession of the physical body by another spirit resulting in apparent madness is often feared, while this can theoretically happen, in practice it is extremely rare. Mostly what is happening is a "dominant idea" in the subconscious mind of the victim, like the "fear" of something like 'black magic', and no spirit influence is actually taking place! However in a small number of cases a Spirit entity can attach themselves to a victim who is actually very mediumistically gifted but without the victim being aware of this fact - in exactly the same way a 'Spirit Guide' works with a Medium. Also, the troublesome Spirit is probably likewise unaware of the effect they are having on their victim - it all would seem dream-like to them. So in these very rare situations both victim and Spirit entity are most probably unaware that they are psychically attached to each other! The cure in such cases is to enlighten both victim and spirit entity as to what is happening, communication with the spirit entity is achieved with the help of an experienced Medium (Psychic). Only in extremely rare cases, would a spirit entity have a knowing and malicious intent to cause harm to a victim, their motivation being some sort of resentment. Again, the cure is to enlighten both victim and the malicious spirit, however dificult this may be.
Psychic attack from Spirit entities of this form can therefore be originated by low minded psychic people of devious intent, who can psychically manipulate ignorant Spirit entities, throwing them off from one victim to another, or because they have done this once or twice to susceptible victims, they generate a fear in the community at large that they could do it to everyone! This form of psychic attack is impossible to happen where people understand the realities about Spirits and Mediumship!
Lastly, let us consider psychic attack by the Jinn (elemental beings). Like humans, there are both good and bad amongst the Jinn, so we must be careful not to speak in a prejudiced way against Jinn generally! However, those Jinn that are bad are more effective at being bad than human-spirit counterparts are! because the Jinn are more familiar with the spirit dimensions and even the low minded ones can utilize psychic phenomena that would be beyond the knowledge of low minded human-spirits. Historically within the Muslim lands, the low minded Jinn have caused much problem and fear for un-educated people. Some Psychic people, especially Psychic Muslim people, have friendships with the Jinn, (sometimes called a 'Muakkil') but to repeat the words above, some Jinn are good and some are bad!
PROTECTION against Psychic Attack from any form of Spirit body comes from the universal rule: Like attracts Like.
We are protected by rising in Spiritual Progression, that is raising our own spirituality to give us Immunity from the lower entities! ...Like tuning a radio receiver to higher up the scale makes the lower radio channels silent on the radio, the lower radio waves are still there in the air, but the receiver no longer picks up their signal as it is now tuned-in higher up. Likewise, the level of spirituality within ourselves governs the level of the Spirits we are able to be influenced by. It is not just those of us gifted as Spirit-Mediums, but all people, as we are all influenced by the Spirits around each and every one of us. These influences often come as implanted thoughts in our sub-conscious mind, especially in the light sleep towards the end of the night, but implanted thoughts can sometimes come at any time of night or day. Spiritual progression is about greater Love and Service for all of Creation.
The danger of harmful thoughts, or hypnotically induced effects to our physical body, ONLY comes from low minded spirits, NEVER will an evolved Spirit bring any harm to any person or any part of Creation. And as Like Attracts Like, becoming Spiritually more evolved yourself is the best defence against low minded spirits: The purest objective for ALL Muslims is to absorb the Love and Light from Allah and genuinely grow spiritually to such an extent, rising to become immune to evil, and because of that, can serve Allah and do so many good works in the most difficult of places! Prayer and reciting of the Qur'an, while thinking deeply about the meaning of the words is a wonderful protection, especially in moments when we are challenged more that we are ready for - Prayer and reciting of the Qur'an is like invoking a divine protective wall around us; However, there is still no substitute for being at One with The Creator with our Soul - The true meaning of Islam!
2. Psychic Attack by Manipulation of Psychic Energies.
There are a great many forms of Energy, many more different forms of energy than the ones we know from our school books like; Heat energy, Kinetic energy, Potential energy and Electrical energy. Some different forms of energy are now just becoming identified with current research into Quantum Physics and Astronomy, other forms of energy are secret military developments, like the so called Directed Energy Weapons which use variations of Laser focused Microwave technologies. These other forms of energy are very real, but still referred to as psychic mystical phenomena or Psi energies: In Physical Mediumship, a great many different phenomena can happen such as; 'materialisation' such that everyone attending the séance can see the communicating Spirit Body, direct voice heard from the Spirit themselves rather than through the Medium, teleports where articles appear or move about, matter passing through matter like the links of a chain, spirit automatic writing and painting of pictures, levitation of heavy objects and other phenomena. This is all brought about by the advanced knowledge of energies and dimensions by those in the Spirit plane. Physical Mediumship phenomena and new Science like the 'Hutchison Effects' are getting ever closer! However, not everyone wishes to use these energies for good purpose!
Another way to understand Psychic Attack by manipulation of energies, which is using the same natural laws as Spiritual Healing but in reverse, and used negatively rather than positively. It is thought intentions like Prayer, but reversed to be negative rather than positive. This is what 'Black Magic' is.
This is a problem that seems to affect many Muslims with the Man-made sort of cultural pseudo-Islam based on fear and shame (hiya), but True Islam is based on Love and Light; Our love for our Creator and our Creator's love for each of us.
When religion is of the man-made variety based on fear and shame, and if a person happens to be a bit psychic themselves but without realising it, then so called 'Black Magic' or 'Evil Eye' will affect that person more, which makes them even more afraid – it is a vicious circle!
To explain this we need to understand that there are natural 'energies' all around us, Muslims call this 'Baraka', but other names are 'Chi' (as in Tai-Chi) or 'Reiki'.
These natural energies have the capacity for our mind to affect them and bring about a situation. For example, as Muslims we understand that genuine good Islamic behaviour brings us 'Baraka', whereas with negative thoughts and behaviour we can lose the 'Baraka'. It is these natural energies that bring us either good health and livelihood, or bad health and loss of livelihood!
Everybody's mind affects the natural energies around them, but psychic people affect them more. Thoughts have much more substance, and are far more tangible than is often realised. Thoughts are another form of Energy! There are positive thoughts and there are negative thoughts. Thoughts from different people can combine to increase the power of effect, sometimes dramatically so! Our science has so much yet to investigate about all this! To clarify what I'm trying to say, think of an e-mail and the path the electronic message takes from another computer to your computer, undoubtedly it has taken a certain path, but trying to trace that actual path, the actual wires (and radio antenna) that the signal takes would be exceedingly difficult - and somewhat irrelevant! The fact remains that if an e-mail is addressed to your computer, to your computer it will somehow arrive! Thoughts are much the same; they get to where they are receptive - be they kind positive thoughts (like prayer) or negative destructive thoughts. What this means in the context of Psychic Attack is that bad negative thoughts produce some sort of energy, which can find its own way to its target because the target is receptive, like it has its own signature or vibration. Much Voodoo type Magic is this form of negative energy.
"Positive thought makes a big difference!"
The film "The Secret" (2006) is very helpful and recommended viewing about this. It describes the "Law of Attraction", and how our thoughts and feeling attract events to us; be that positive thoughts, or negative thoughts! This 1½ hour film can either be seen on the internet with broadband, or on DVD.
What we call Evil or 'Satan' is NOT a 'spirit-person', 'fallen angel' or something physical; rather it is the combined negative thoughts and negative wishes (greed, envy, revenge etc) of all the peoples of the world! Thoughts have substance!
Psychic energy, sometimes called 'Psi', can have all sorts of strange paranormal effects, a room can be made to feel icy cold, articles can be made to fly about that room, clocks can be made to stop, electrical equipment can be made to switch on and off, metal spoons can be bent double by holding them between the fingers of a very psychic person. I have heard about seemingly impossible actions like a tennis ball being turned in-side out! and many other strange reports. There is so much phenomena that is unexplained by current science, it is how we mentally deal with this phenomena that matters; are we scared by it or do we hold to what we are? Psychic energy or 'Psi' can therefore, like anything else, be used for bad (evil) purposes, OR it can be used for good purposes like Spiritual Healing. The difference is in the intention!
"What we focus on gives energy to it", so if we focus on negativity and fear, the very action of focusing on it makes the situation worse! As stated above there does exist phenomena such as telepathic and hypnotic influences between people, and between spirits and people, which may be for either good intention or bad intention, also there exists different types of psychic energies, however on their own these effects upon us are very weak and subtle, but if followed, they could cause us in all innocents to choose options in life that result in harm to ourselves and our families. By focusing on these negative thoughts, we energize the negativity, giving power to otherwise very weak forces, so it gives Power to those temptations to harmful actions to ourselves. This is how Black Magic works! For example; if a telepathic thought is sent to us that our boss at work is a very unfair person, then during the course of the days and weeks that follow, when some little incident at work happens that upsets us, the telepathic thought now embedded in our mind that the boss is unfair, may just influence us enough to speak badly to our boss, with the result that we get the sack! That is just a story to illustrate how very weak influences to our mind can, if focused upon, energize, then cause situations that bring us harm!
To continue this example story: In life we may indeed find ourselves getting the Sack from our employment, or some other disaster, but that is not the end though, rather it is just a Test and something our own Spirit-Soul needs to experience. The Holy Qur'an 2:156 says:
Who say, when afflicted with calamity:
"To God we belong, and to Him is our return"
Family and Social Pressures
Sometimes we can feel completely trapped by our circumstances, but what is actually going on is another form of manipulation of Psychic Energies by the way people treat each other trying to control each other - subconsciously trying to grab other peoples personal energy; that is the energy we all have in our aura. Families and Societies can put tremendous pressure on people, like pressuring people to marry a certain person (which is completely against Islam anyway) or Not-marry the person they wish to marry, pressures like what career a young person may take, or what extended family caring duties are forced upon a person. Religious leaders sometimes put terrible pressure on people to conform to their own ideas and decrees, which are not necessarily correct Islam in the first place! There is hysteria made by Sunni against Shia and Shia against Sunni, yet all follow exactly the same Qur'an, there is hysteria against those who are born different, like people born Gay, there is hysteria against Non-Muslims or people of other Religions, all of this inflicted distress works by manipulation of people's auric energy! Note, never be ashamed of how you were born or what you are, but as Allah is watching us all, always try to behave in a way that is higher!
It has been observed that there are four types of manipulation people use, raging from Active aggression to Passive pleading sympathy:
- Intimidator - bullying and forceful behaviour
- Interrogator - always asking: why did you do that?
- Aloof - assuming to be above everybody else
- 'Poor me' – Trying to win by pulling people’s sympathy
The saddest part in all this stealing of other people's personal energy, is that Allah provide ample energy for all of us in the magnificent beauty of Creation, to live by being in Awe of the Creator and this Creation – What is true Islam other than this?
PROTECTION against all forms of Manipulation of Energies Psychic Attack comes from strength of Belief, which puts up a barrier to outside influences. It does not seem to matter very much what our "belief" is in that protects us, rather it is the psychological state of mind that is unwavering and does not panic when the unexpected happens. One person may have strong belief in Allah (God), another person belief in the 'Natural Law of the Universe', another person belief in mental visualisations of protective shields of light surrounding them, a child may have total belief in the protection of his/her parents. As so many varied objects of belief do actually provide protection, it shows that it is the psychological state of mind of total belief that protects us rather than the object of that "belief". Personally however, I would see that these different objects of belief different people have, are all facets of the Infinite One who Created, but there again, that could just be my own understanding and deep belief in the oneness of Allah!
There will always be some sort of psychic phenomena that is strange and unexpected to each and every person, it is impossible to have complete knowledge of all the phenomena in the universe, so what matters it is how we can mentally cope with the scary unexpected, or in other words: Our own strength of Belief.
Essentially, Strength of Belief that permits Positive energies and thoughts to enter through our aura, but preventing Negative energies and thoughts from doing so.
